At Trinity Presbyterian Church we're a community of ordinary people trying to faithfully follow Jesus.
Who We Are
We invite you to visit us and participate in our weekly activities for adults and youth as well as our Sunday morning service.
Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hamilton has been formed by the amalgamation of the congregations of: Eastmount, St. Enoch, Chalmers and the South Gate Presbyterian Churches. These congregations have been strong Christian faith communities in Hamilton for decades using their God-given gifts of time, talent and treasure to build up the Kingdom of God.
During 2005, St. Enoch was into its 80th year of worship in downtown Hamilton. In March of this same year, Eastmount celebrated its 50th year on the Hamilton Mountain. These Churches brought together a strong commitment to Christianity and to the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
On April 1st, 2005, Trinity Presbyterian Church was established through the amalgamation of the Eastmount and St. Enoch congregations.
In 2017, after 112 years of worship on their east mountain brow location, the congregation of Chalmers realized that they would need to look towards a new future. Amalgamation discussions began with Trinity in the spring of 2018 as the two congregations began worshiping together. The Presbytery of Hamilton officially approved the amalgamation of the Trinity and Chalmers congregations on March 31, 2019 under the leadership of Rev. Matthew Lingard.
In 2023, following 2 ½ years of prayerful discussions, meetings, and planning, the amalgamation of The South Gate Church and Trinity Church was formalized on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
