Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hamilton has been formed by the amalgamation of the congregations of: Eastmount, St. Enoch and Chalmers Presbyterian Churches. These three congregations have been strong Christian faith communities in Hamilton for decades using their God-given gifts of time, talent and treasure to build up the Kingdom of God.

During 2005, St. Enoch was into its 80th year of worship in downtown Hamilton.  In March of this same year, Eastmount celebrated its 50th year on the Hamilton Mountain. These Churches brought together a strong commitment to Christianity and to the Presbyterian Church in Canada.

On April 1st, 2005, Trinity Presbyterian Church was established through the amalgamation of the Eastmount and St. Enoch congregations. The Presbytery of Hamilton officially constituted the new congregation on April 3rd and inducted the Rev. Dr. Philip Wilson as its first minister. Under the leadership of Dr. Wilson, this new congregation was recognized as an exciting and vital Christian community ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Following the retirement of Dr. Wilson, we continue to serve the community under the leadership of Rev. Matthew Lingard.

In 2017, after 112 years of worship on their east mountain brow location, the congregation of Chalmers realized that they would need to look towards a new future.  Amalgamation discussions began with Trinity in the spring of 2018 as the two congregations began worshiping together.  The Presbytery of Hamilton officially approved the amalgamation of the Trinity and Chalmers congregations on March 31, 2019 under the leadership of Rev. Matthew Lingard.
